What is Oral History?

Oral Histories are a way of gathering and preserving individual voices to capture the social memory of everyday life, work, and play in Charlotte County. These stories shed light on the lived experiences and individual perspectives on the events and people who have shaped our past and present that are often missing from the written records. It is our mission to preserve these stories for the present and future generations.

How Do You Collect Oral History?

With an oral history interview that consists of a well-prepared interviewer questioning an interviewee and recording their exchange in audio or video format.
